Missing Pieces Project
The San Diego African American Museum of Fine Art (SDAAMFA), in collaboration with the San Diego History Center, presents an exhibit entitled San Diego’s Lost Communities. Using testimony from impacted residents, photos, and other historic objects, this exhibit highlights the neighborhoods and communities that have been lost to freeway construction, gentrification, restrictive covenants, redevelopment, as well as the impact to the residents and businesses forced to leave.
